Odesa Art Museum

вул. Софіївська, 5А, Одеса

The Potocki Palace is a classic noble estate built for Countess O. Naryshkina, the youngest daughter of Stanisław and Sofia Potocki. The Polish magnate Potocki family owned the palace until the late 19th century. The palace still preserves its magnificent ceiling artwork, marble floors, and parquet with inlays. In the basement, there is an artificial cave with a grotto connected by underground passages to the Odesa catacombs — tours must be booked in advance. In 1899, at the initiative of the Odesa Society of Fine Arts, the Odesa Art Museum was established and continues to operate today. The collection features works by Ukrainian and Russian masters from the 16th to 19th centuries, including Aivazovsky, Tropinin, Savrasov, Shishkin, Repin, Surikov, Serov, Vrubel, Roerich, Benois, Kandinsky, and others.
