This historical building is a prime example of a noble urban estate, rich in both architectural beauty and history. The complex consists of two main structures: the original two-story mansion, with a Renaissance-style ground floor and a Baroque-style upper level comprising twelve rooms, and an adjoining art gallery added later in the Late Baroque style.
During the difficult 1990s, there were attempts by certain individuals to turn the House of Scientists into a private business club. However, thanks to the efforts of then-director Halyna Valentynivna Tereshchenko, who appealed to UNESCO, the building remained in public ownership. Today, the House of Scientists continues to serve as an important cultural and intellectual hub of Odesa.
